On Sunday, Team Affleck competed at the Corner Haven Farm Horse Show.  Payton rode Rannita in Walk Trot, winning the Pleasure class, placing 6th in command and 4th in Under Saddle. Lily also showed Rannita in Walk Trot.  She won the Cavaletti class, placed 2nd in another Cavaletti class, and 4th in the Equitation on the Flat.  Vanessa rode her own pony, Rannita, in Leadline.  She won the Walk Class, placed 6th in the Walk-Trot Class, and 2nd in the Cavaletti Class.  Ragen joined us at the show with her own horse, Majestic.  This was there first hunter show and they did a wonderful job.  They placed 3rd and 4th on the flat, and 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th in the 2′ and 2’3″ over fences classes.  Kerston showed Red and placed 3rd, 4th, and 4th on the flat.  They also placed 3rd and 4th in the 2’6″ over fences classes, and 2nd in both 2’9″ over fences classes.  I’d like to congratulate everyone on such a successful show.  Everyone rode well and we all had a great time.  And a big THANK YOU goes out to the wonderful supportive parents.

 

I’d also like to wish Rannita a very happy birthday!  She turns 14 years old today.  We celebrated with birthday carrot cake on Sunday at the horse show- even Rannita got a piece of cake!

Congrats to Kerston and Four Feet of Snow aka “Red”!  On Sunday, May 8th, at the If Only Farm Horse Show, Kerston and Red won all of the Open Hunter 3′ classes and were the Open Hunter Champions!  The pair also won the Open Equitation on the Flat class, placed 2nd in the Mini Mclay and 3rd in the Mini Medal.  This was their debut performance at 3′ and they impressed both the judge and the crowd with their stylish jumping techniques. 

I showed Fine Behind in the Schooling Hunters, and we made our debut at the 2’6″ height.  In a large class we placed 5th and 6th over fences, and 2nd in the tough Handy Hunter over fences, and 5th on the flat.  It was a great step forward for Fine. I’m really looking forward to the next show for both of these promising horses!
