Despite the cool rain on Sunday, Team Affleck made the trip down to Homer for the Canter for a Cure Hunter Pace to support our dear friend, Alice Trudeau in her struggle against colon cancer.  This was Hailey’s first hunter pace and she did an amazing job on Dr.Kiltz’s horse, Geronimo.  This was also Molly’s first hunter pace.  She and Ginger actually lead most of the way! Cindy was also on our team on her cute pony, Rosey and I rode Fine Behind.  The scenery on the pace was breathtaking and we had a blast.  The organizers of the event deserve recognition as they did a wonderful job preparing the trails, jumps, as well as tons of prizes, warm food, and a bright, cheeful atmosphere!  We look forward to the next pace they are hosting on Sept. 25th.   We don’t know the results of this pace yet, but look for them next week.

Vanessa won two out of the three Leadline classes at the BHA Hunter Horse Show on Sunday and ended up winning the Reserve Grand Championship! Congrats Vanessa!

Molly and Ginger had their most consistant show of the year of so far, winning ribbons in all three flat classes and in both jumping classes.  I’m very proud of what this pair has accomplished!

On Saturday Claire Affleck Training hosted Dr.Rob’s 2nd Annual Fund Raising Event.  This year all proceeds went to the Finger Lakes SPCA.  We raised over $1200! The folks at the SPCA brought out several dogs and an adorable kitten that are up for adoption.  Thank you to the hundreds of people who came out on a such a beautiful day to enjoy the music of Dusty Pas’cal, entertainment from Jason the magician, face painting, food, and horseback riding.    Also a big thank you to all that donated their time, energy, and generous gifts to this wonderful cause.

Last week I showed in Wellington, Florida at the Winter Equestrian Festival.  I competed in three classes in  the Training Jumpers and returned home with three blue ribbons! I had a wonderful experience and learned a lot both in and out of the saddle.  I am really looking forward to bringing down our string of show horses to compete at WEF in the near future!

Ginger Snap Decision, with owner Miss Molly Shea, Claire, and Annie

I’d like to congratulate our Leadline rider, Annie, on her blue ribbon! Annie rode Ginger
Snap Decision, owned by Miss Molly Shea, in the Leadline class yesterday at the If Only
Farm Horse Show. Annie did a beautiful job on Ginger and I am so proud of what this young
rider has accomplished. Great job Annie!
I also rode Ginger, as this was her first time showing over fences. We showed in the
Schooling Hunter Over Fences and also came away with a first place ribbon! And thanks to
Molly’s great job riding her to a third place in the under saddle, we ended up Reserve
Champion! Molly also rode Ginger in three other under saddle classes placing 3rd, 3rd,
and 2nd! Congrats Molly and Ginger!
Jamee showed Taken Not Given, owned by Renee and Joe Lane. This was “TNG”‘s first horse
show and what a great job he and Jamee and did together! They placed 2nd, 2nd, 3rd and
2nd in their under saddles! Congrats to horse and rider on this great accomplishment!
We’ve had a very exciting, fun, and successful year in the show ring and I can not tell
you how excited I am for the 2010 show season and how proud I am of all my horses and
riders!
