On Sunday August, 16th we attended the Corner Haven Farm Horse Show in Trumansburg, NY. Despite the 95 degree weather, we had a wonderful time! I showed Harangue, a beautiful Thoroughbred owned by Renee Lane, in the Suitable Hunters. We placed forth and fifth over fences, and placed second in the under saddle, as well as second in the Open Hunter Under Saddle. Heather rode Geronimo, owned by Dr.Rob Kiltz, in his Green Puddle Jumper debut and placed 3rd in the Table 2.2b class! Great riding Heather! I rode Rayden, owned by Roxanne Witkowski, in the Puddle Jumper division, placing 3rd, 2nd, and 2nd. Pat, for our grand finale, rode his stunning mare, Suki, in the Schooling Jumpers and came away with the Grand Championship! Awesome riding Pat! Congrats!
We look forward to Corner Haven Farm Jumper Show in October!
Claire on Cheers, Dr.Kiltz on Geronimo, Cindy on Rosey
On Saturday we participated in the Limestone Creek Hunt ride at Hobbit Hollow Stables in
Skaneateles, NY. I rode Chris’s pony, Cheers, Dr.Kiltz rode his horse, Geronimo, and
Cindy rode her pony, Rosey. We enjoyed perfect weather and a fun ride through the hills
overlooking Skaneateles Lake. When we returned from the ride we were treated to an
amazing gourmet lunch hosted by Hobbit Hollow. What a lovely way to spend a Saturday;
horses, food, and friends!
We had a fun weekend participating in the Skaneateles Winterfest!
On Saturday, Lynn, Heather, Nikki, and I took Geronimo to the Skaneateles Winterfest. We
all were able to meet and greet a lot of great people in the community, and Geronimo got
lots of attention and got to eat lots of carrots!
This coming Saturday, January 31st, is the Skaneateles Winterfest at the Skaneateles Community Center. Weather dependent, Geronimo and I will be part of the festival from 11am-1pm. Please come out and say hi to us! There will be many other activities including snow shoeing, cross country skiing, a craft fair, Siberian Husky dog sleds, and throughout the village “A Taste of Skaneateles”. It will be a really fun time and a great way to enjoy the winter!
On Sunday Dr. Rob hosted a Walk & Talk at the farm. About 50 people joined us for a walk down to the pond where Warren and Justin had built a wonderful bonfire. We gathered around the fire with pumpkin bread and warm cider in hand to listen to some inspirational thoughts from Dr.Rob. I brought Geronimo down towards the end of the talk and a few of the people attending went for a ride.
It was so nice to have so many positive people at the farm. I thank Dr. Rob and Chris Briel for making this event happen.
I look forward to hosting more events like this. Check this article out in the Citizen here. Be sure to check out Dr.Rob’s website www.mindbodysmile.com for more information on future events!
Claire leads Geronimo with a happy young rider aboard
The launch of the CNY Fertility Kids Club with the Meet & Greet Geronimo event on Saturday was a smashing success! There were a lot of smiling faces! The kids were able to ride Geronimo, Ransom, and Rannita. There was a big straw bale mountain that they got to climb, a game of “Pin the Tail on Geronimo”, pumpkins to paint, a magician, popcorn and cotton candy. Over 300 guests and volunteers enjoyed a beautiful fall day surrounded by great people and beautiful horses! Claire Affleck Training looks forward to hosting more events like this in the future!
