Team Affleck- Champions!

Team Affleck came in as overall Champions in the Cantering for a Cure Hunter Pace last weekend! We took first place in several categories including; Best Optimum Time, Best Matched Team, Best Turned Out Team, and Most Riders From One Stable. Cindy also won a first place medal for being the Oldest Rider participating and Hailey won second place and Reserve Champion in the Youngest Rider Category (the first place rider was only 12 years old and Hailey is 14!). Well done team!

Cantering for a Cure

Despite the cool rain on Sunday, Team Affleck made the trip down to Homer for the Canter for a Cure Hunter Pace to support our dear friend, Alice Trudeau in her struggle against colon cancer. This was Hailey’s first hunter pace and she did an amazing job on Dr.Kiltz’s horse, Geronimo. This was also Molly’s first hunter pace. She and Ginger actually lead most of the way! Cindy was also on our team on her cute pony, Rosey and I rode Fine Behind. The scenery on the pace was breathtaking and we had a blast. The organizers of the event deserve recognition as they did a wonderful job preparing the trails, jumps, as well as tons of prizes, warm food, and a bright, cheeful atmosphere! We look forward to the next pace they are hosting on Sept. 25th. We don’t know the results of this pace yet, but look for them next week.

Team Affleck Wins Again!

Results are in from last week’s Hunter Pace at Hobbit Hollow!

Our 5 Mile Team- Renee Lane on her horse, Harangue, and Haviland Hawkins on Geronimo, owned by Dr.Robert Kiltz, and myself on Fine Behind won the 5 mile pace!

Our 10 Mile Team- Cindy Kowalski on Rosey, Chris Lego on Tango, and Jeff Shingleton on Mason, placed 2nd in the 10 mile pace. Congrats!

DeRuyter Hunter Pace

Team Affleck places 2nd at the DeRuyter Hunter Pace on Saturday! We enjoyed perfect weather on Saturday for this beautiful ride. Pat, Cindy, and I all rode together and had a fabulous time. We look forward to the October pace as well!
