Claire’s Training Approach

 Claire competes a young horse in the Level 1 Jumpers at the 2009 NYS Fair

Claire Affleck Training is based out of Skaneateles Equestrian Center in the beautiful Finger Lakes Region of upstate New York. We focus primarily on starting young horses under saddle. We also continue to train horses already started for careers in the show ring as hunters and jumpers.

Claire starts young horses with a kind, quiet, and systematic method. Under her guidance they learn to respond correctly to the the rider’s aids while remaining relaxed and happy. She also trains them further for the show ring in the hunter and jumper divisions, showing them herself as they progress.

Claire has successfully shown her youngsters at shows such as The Devon Horse Show, The Warrenton Horse Show, The National Horse Show, The Winter Equestrian Festival, HITS Culpeper and HITS Saugerties. She takes great satisfaction in each milestone along the training road.
